Here is a great video of Sensei Mal McRae providing a detail walk though of his version of Shomen Uchi Ikkyo, both Irimi and Tenkan versions. Sensei’s main theory with Ikkyo from Shomen is to “enter before raising the hands; don’t raise the hands and then enter”.
